What is the easiest and fastest way to place an order or contact us?
For the fastest response, please place your order through our Online Order Form. If you have any questions before placing an order, you can use our Contact Us Form. We are usually baking, frosting and decorating, so are often unable to answer the phone. However, we understand that sometimes a phone conversation is preferred, so we try our best to return phone calls as soon as we are able.

Where are you located?
We are based in the East Bay but do not have a retail storefront. We are a home based business who utilizes a commercial kitchen to prepare our creations. We work by-appointment only. We have almost ALL of our work featured online at Flickr, Facebook and on our Blog.

How much do your cakes cost and what are the minimum order requirements?
Prices vary depending on size, detail, intricacy & complexity of your design. For quote, please go to Place Order. We do have an order minimum of $60 on all cakes. Since we make everything to order, our minimum order is as follows:

- For cakes, for customized/specialty cakes range from $4-$7 per person (minimum 15pp=$60).  Sculptured cakes tend to run on the higher end of the cake range (if you want a cake in the shape of something like a jersey, duck, etc etc).

- For cupcakes, 1 dozen standard size of the same flavor and frosting or 2 dozen mini size cupcakes of the same flavor and frosting

- For decorated cookies, 1 dozen of the same type (we are happy to mix and match sugar cookie designs)

- For cake truffles, 1 dozen of the same flavor (we are happy to mix and match top designs)

How do your desserts taste?
Our desserts are made using only high quality ingredients including real butter, milk, flour, sugar, eggs and fresh fruit. No frozen stuff here! So, YES… They do taste as good as they look!  – see what our happy customers are saying!

Do you offer cake tastings?
We do not offer cake tastings. Since we are a small operation, we try to focus our time on the high demand for our custom creations. Many of our customers are referrals and/or tried our creations at an event or party; we hope that the positive feedback you may hear about us will entice you to try us out!

We do however, offer cake tastings available for wedding consultations for 100 guests or more. Each couple chooses 3-4 flavors they are interested in, and everyone meets and tastes all of them. Usually, couples have the opportunity to taste about 8 different flavors so it works out best this way! You also get to take ALL of the cakes home with you to let your friends & family help you decide on flavors;) We charge $25 per couple for tastings, but when you book your order with us, the $25 gets applied toward your order. We recommend that you bring in any pictures, invitations, etc, that may help us come up with something perfect for your event.

How do I place a customized order?
Sweets La Petite Bakeshop is located in the East Bay area with delivery options based on availability throughout San Francisco Bay Area. Sweets La Petite is a small operation and does not have a retail storefront and all desserts are custom made-to-order. You can send us over all the details of your event, please place your order through our Online Order Form. We will review your submission and get back to you with a quote within 48 hours. To keep it fun, and the products fresh and creative, we only take a limited number of events per week. It never hurts to book early!

How much notice is necessary for preparation of special orders?
Please consider that we are a small bakeshop that won’t cut corners, which means our availability is limited. Prime summer weekends fill up early in the year with wedding and holiday orders, so please contact us early in the planning process for best results. To ensure we can accommodate your custom bakery order, please place your order no later than 7 business days in advance of your desired delivery date. If Sweets La Petite is able to accommodate your rush order (under 7 days advance), a 50% surcharge of your total order will be included in the final invoice. Weekend orders book up quickly, so at least 2 weeks’ notice is highly recommended.

What is your payment policy for your desserts?
We require payment in full when placing your order, for all orders. Payment may be made by Mastercard, Visa or PayPal when placing an order. We do not accept payment upon delivery. Our schedule books fast, and quality cakes take time to make. Payment becomes non-refundable and non-transferable to another date or order after 7 days.

What is your delivery policy and fees?
Sweets la Petite delivers anywhere within the following San Francisco/Bay Area Counties:

Solano, Napa – $15
Contra Costa, Alameda, Marin, San Francisco – $25
Sonoma, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz – $35

If we attempt to deliver your product at the place and time you requested and we wait more than 10 minutes, you will be charged wait time based on fees of $2 per minute plus re-delivery fee. We will call you to let you know what is going on, so please answer your phone.

It is important that someone be available to receive the product, as we cannot leave it at the door. In case of non-availability of recipient at the time of delivery there will be no refund. We will leave a door notice to let the recipient know that a delivery was attempted. Our re-delivery fee is $20.

On the order form, when we ask you for multiple phone #’s for you or the person to whom you are attempting to send a gift, it isn’t because we are nosey. We ask for accurate phone numbers to ensure you or the recipient gets the delivery without it breaking the bank in delivery fees.

What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 7 day cancellation policy in order to receive a full refund. This is 7 days prior to the scheduled delivery date. cancellation made 7 days prior to delivery or pick up date will be refunded their payment minus 20% non refundable or transferable cancellation fee from the original price. Any cancellation made after the 7 day limit will not receive a refund / transfer of the deposit.

When is my cake made? What kind of ingredients do you use?
Our cakes are never made more than 24 hours in advance of when you need it. Every cake is custom made to order. We use only the finest, freshest ingredients, including pure cane sugar, whole milk, farm fresh eggs, local artisan chocolate (Guittard and Scharffen Berger), pure vanilla extract, and sweet cream butter. Everything we make is from scratch. That’s why our cakes not only look beautiful, they taste amazing too!

What is rolled fondant?
Rolled fondant is a sugar dough, which is rolled out, then draped and molded over a cake. This is usually over a layer of buttercream, since the fondant needs something to adhere to. The result is a smooth, matte finish, which is both elegant and versatile. The moistness of the cake keeps the fondant moist, so it’s still easily cut with a knife.

Can you ship my cake?
We cannot ship cakes or cupcakes. We can only ship cookies at this time.

Do you sell wholesale?
Yes, Sweets la Petite sells to stores with a valid state resale license. Please contact us for more information, orders@sweetslapetite.com.
